As Christmas approaches, I’m quickly running out of time here in Tokyo. Gotoh Sensei just arrived back from giving a five day typography workshop at LCC in London and insisted on taking me out to dinner for helping correct his English lectures and handouts. Tonight his family and I went out for Kaiseki, which included the best sashimi I’ve ever had. I have been quite surprise at how much Christmas spirit there is here. Department stores are playing Christmas music and are having Christmas sales, homes and business have put out christmas lights, and there is even a large outdoor light exhibition in Tachikawa. I’ve started cleaning up the apartment and gathering all my projects together. Fitting everything into one suitcase is going to be a challenge, but I’m still convinced it’s possible.
